Lately..

We have had quite a bit going on these last couple of weeks...

For Pioneer Day (a July 24th Holiday here in Utah for all of my out of state friends and family) we were with Travis' family up in Heber City. Derek, Jackson's cousin turned 1 on July 23rd so we started the weekend with his birthday party Friday night. Saturday we had a picnic brunch and later made homemade snow cones...yum!

Last week we went up Logan Canyon with a few of our neighbors for a bonfire. Jackson was fascinated by the campfire! I LOVE the smell of a campfire...until you aren't around it anymore. We didn't get home until 10:30 that night (2 hours past Jackson's bedtime) and you better believe that he got a bath before going to bed!

Our neighbor Brooke and her little boy Ryder (she is due any day now with another little boy and I am so excited that Jackson will have little neighbor friends to play with when he is a little older)

A few weeks ago Jackson made an amazing discovery...the TELEVISION!! I told Travis that it is time to get out the Sesame Street and Baby Einstein shows. I came downstairs one night to this....

...are you wondering what he was watching? Don't worry...it was just a good old fashioned beauty pageant...Toddlers and Tiaras!! :)

In other news, Jackson is OFFICIALLY giggling. We have gotten it on video, but blogger doesn't like the file sizes that I have tried to upload so I will have to figure something else out. Let me just tell you, it is the CUTEST thing and melts my heart every time I hear it! I love my little boy SO much!

Grandpa and Grandma H came to visit!

We were so lucky to have my parents come out to visit us from Iowa for 10 days at the beginning of this month. If you ask me it's pretty awesome that they have visited twice since Jackson was born and he is only 3 months old! :) The weather was absolutely beautiful the entire time they were here. Amongst the relaxation time, my dad helped Travis hang a couple of ceiling fans, we got to go on a couple of picnics, several nice walks, the park with the dogs, and fishing at several locations here in Cache Valley. Much to his baby sitter's dismay, Jackson got to spend lots of quality time with Grandpa and Grandma while Travis and I worked.

Jackson, Grandpa, and Grandma

Grandpa taught Jackson all about how to change the line on a fishing pole

Grandma made sure that Jackson's belly stay full while I was at work

Jackson showed Grandpa and Grandma how much fun he is now during bath time...

...and how much better he is getting at tummy time (even though it still isn't his favorite thing)

Thanks SO MUCH mom and dad for coming out to spend more time with us! We love you lots and look forward to when we get to see you again soon!

Our Latest Upgrade

There was nothing wrong with our garage. It was actually really nice the way that it was...clean, organized, and free of cobwebs...

...but then we got a few supplies from the Home Depot...

...and one night after work while my parents were here, Travis and my Dad started building...

...and NOW our garage is REALLY AWESOME!! I couldn't believe it only took those two about 4 hours to put this beautiful workbench together! It truly finishes off the "look" of our garage. Thanks so much to my Dad for helping Travis put this together and to Travis' Dad for loaning them his saws! :)

My Personal Window Cleaning Service

Last month our HOA sent out it's monthly newsletter. Within the neighborhood happenings, there was an offer for all those interested to have our home's windows cleaned. Should enough people express interest we were going to get a relatively low price. Now all of you who have been to our home know that we have about a million windows...and this chore would be no small task...so needless to say we were definitely willing to pay the $35. Unfortunately, there were not enough people who cared to have clean windows in our neighborhood so Travis took matters into his own hands....

...please don't tell our HOA that he was up on the roof!

With the assistance of an 8 foot ladder, and a 16 foot extendable window washer tool our windows are SQUEAKY CLEAN!! They were so much dirtier than what we even thought. Thanks hunny! You are the greatest!! :)
